I am a Brookline League of Women Voters Board member, and  I sit on the Advisory Committee. I believe good local government involves listening and finding common ground. Housing is important, but so is pedestrian and bicyclist safety. We need green space for recreation and team sports - and we have so little free space. Our commercial districts need attention - and with so much available public transportation we need to figure out how to use cars less. Mostly we need to realize we agree on much, much more than we disagree and we need to focus on civil debate. Name calling has no place in civil discourse.
